Talesweaver: The MMORPG with Heart

Based from the Korean novel, “Children of the Runes”, Talesweaver tells many stories through the use of various characters during gameplay. The characters, who are for the most part teenagers, reveal tales of revenge, amnesia, family lineage, adventure, and heroism. Each character’s unique story is dictated by the choices and scenarios that you encounter during the game.

The Characters

The Characters Boris, Lucian, Cloe, Nayatrei, Sivelin, Mila, Maximin, Ispin, Tichiel, Joshua, and Lanziee range in age from 17-24 and have their own individual strengths that they bring to the game. The characters are endearing and excellently rendered. During my time I chose to play as Boris. Boris is friend to Lucian and feels compelled to watch over him in what felt to me like an older sibling type of relationship. Lucian and Boris together seek adventure and revenge. Cataclysm Lives Up To Its Name (and Blizzard is hiring!)

Within 24 hours of its release, World of Warcraft Cataclysm sold a whopping 3.3 MILLION copies. This makes the third (and reported final) expansion for the game and the fastest selling PC game of all time (Wrath of the Lich King sold 2.8 million copies in 24 hours).

How did they achieve such fabulous insanity? Not only was Cataclysm released in 10 countries at the same time but Blizzard and key retail partners in the US, Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, and Taiwan worked together to open more than 10,000 stores at midnight for the launch of this title.

“We had to bring Azeroth to the brink of destruction in Cataclysm, but the result was our best expansion yet. We want to thank all of our new, existing, and returning players throughout the world for their incredible enthusiasm and support, and we look forward to hearing what they think about all the new content.” -Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.

VYou, no, VYOU!

Okay, no I am not making an attempt to create a new curse word or revive an old one (as previous attempts resulted unsuccessful) but I AM in fact telling you about this nifty new tool that all the hip cats are purring about.

Vyou is still in beta but it is a take on the formspring accounts we all seem to love and/or hate but now with moving video! It’s like the not to distant future!

You’ll find all sorts of gaming peeps on there that you can ask questions of. Folks from GiantBomb and Kotaku and so on. And yes.. I’ve decided it was my turn to throw my hat in the ring and try out this clever beta.

As a strong advocate of webcam use, I was all over this like milk on cereal… dry dry cereal.

So let’s give it a try together before we review this nifty new service shall we?

Go on, let the ridiculousness commence.

Electronic Arts recently announced that a Madden title would be available for the highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS and be the first EA SPORTS title for the 3DS.

According to EA, Madden NFL Football will offer a comprehensive handheld experience with exciting modes, such as authentic 11-on-11 football, fast-paced 5-on-5 action and Season Mode. Utilizing the remarkable power of the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen, “Call Your Shots” allows users to draw their own plays, on-the-fly, directly on the screen.
