CES ’11 – Sifteo Cubes!

In 2009 David Merrill, a grad student in the Fluid Interfaces Group at MIT’s Media Lab, presented a unique advancement in toy technology at the TedTalks Conference in Long Beach California.

Siftables, as presented at that conference, showed us the great potential behind the item and the vast applications that they may possess. Well now at 2011’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, co founders David Merrill and Jeevan Kalanithi are once again presenting Siftables with a new name and new ways to play.

“Sifteo cubes are a brand-new way to play games using wireless 1.5-inch blocks with full-color screens that respond to motion and start interacting with the player and each other, as soon as they are picked up and moved around.” –Sifteo cubes co founders.

I have to admit that these things look danged cool and I am glad to see that they are still being developed!
